Shopstix
eCommerce plugin for Wordpress
We’ve used quite a few “off-the-shelf” eCommerce platforms in the past, from OScommerce to Magento, but we’ve never found one that “just works”.
On the other hand we’ve been using Wordpress for years, a fantastic blog engine, which also makes a pretty powerful CMS. It doesn’t try to do too much and can be easily extended via plugins.
We really like this methodology, so we thought why not build our own eCommerce plugin on top of Wordpress…
So we built Shopstix, an eCommerce engine which is flexible but not too bloated. Shop owners can add any custom set of “fields” to describe their products, add “galleries” of product images and even add custom “variations” (such as size, weight, etc). Shopstix then creates a bespoke admin panel around these preferences, to ensure that adding a product to your shop is as effortless as adding a new post to your blog.
